Helen Donohoe Brown of West Grove
Helen Donohoe Brown, age 86, of West Grove, formerly of Kennett Square, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2013, at Preston, Jenner’s Pond. She was the beloved wife of the late Malcolm C. Brown with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Helen was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Mowery) Donohoe. She graduated from Kennett High School in 1944 and from St. Francis School of Nursing, Wilmington, Del. in 1947. Helen was a member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church in West Grove. She enjoyed cooking, watching baseball and basketball, gardening, music, and most of all her family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Thomas Brown (Marlene) of Kennett Square, and a daughter, Kathleen Gebhart (the late Fred Gebhart); grandsons, Tony, Rich, Kevin and Eric; and great grandchildren, Sammy, Ellie, Zoe and Jackson. She is also survived by brothers, Philip Donohoe of West Grove and Joseph Donohoe of Hockessin, Del.; and a sister, Patricia Neely of West Grove. She was predeceased by brothers, Gerald Donohoe and James Donohoe, and a sister Rita Pannell. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Helen’s family from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, PA 19390. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Kennett Square. Donations in her memory may be made to Willow Tree Hospice, 616 E.
